The RCC Basic Skills Department, along with the RCLP, will be hosting the following professional development opportunity this month:

"Critical Thinking, and NC Online"

This workshop will help us understand how to teach our students critical thinking skills - so necessary in today's world.  It will also introduce us to (or reinforce our current knowledge of) NC Online, which is designed to. . .

provide Basic Skills educators with quick and easy access to a variety of state and national resources including:
  • the virtual library where you can share teaching tools, strategies, and other resources developed by North Carolina adult educators as well as link to a host of other state and national websites for additional information;

  • the online professional development directory that contains descriptions and links to more than 30 web-based courses and tutorials designed for adult educators; and

  • the information exchange center that serves as a clearinghouse for state and national discussion boards, listservs, and chat rooms.
