Stockings of Literacy 2010

We invite you to participate in a very special event to begin your holiday season.  Stockings of Literacy provide opportunities to honor or memorialize special friends or family members in your life by sponsoring a stocking on our Christmas tree (in the window of the Rockingham County Literacy Project office, 705-A Washington Street, Eden).  Your donations of $6 per stocking will allow the Literacy Project to purchase books, software, and other materials, which are greatly needed.

The person you honor, or a family member of the person you memorialize, will receive a card notifying them that you have donated a gift in his or her name.   Each gift will be represented by a small stocking, with the honored or memorialized person’s name on a small piece of white paper, attached to each stocking.   You are invited to come by the Rockingham County Literacy Project office between November 20 and December 23 to see your stockings on the tree.

To donate a gift, please fill in the enclosed form and mail it with your check, made payable to “Rockingham County Literacy Project,” to:
          Mrs. Jean Light Kinyon
          Executive Director
          Rockingham County Literacy Project
          705-A Washington Street
          Eden, NC 27288

Please call us at (336) 627-0007, if you have questions.  Please know that your donations will help someone to be able to read or to read better, and know that they are appreciated very much.  Last year, the Rockingham County Literacy Project was able to help 93 people because of your generosity.
